Sr. Jackie Ayotte's Latest Research on Our Lady of Wisdom Cemetery Honors a Legacy of Service
November 2025 - In this latest video, researched and narrated by Sr. Jacqueline Ayotte, DW, filmed and edited by Don Raymond, and produced by WFKT-TV, viewers get a historical synopsis of Our Lady of Wisdom Cemetery in St. Agatha, Maine, tracing the chronology of those who came to rest there since 1906. In it, Sr. Jackie acknowledges and details the contributions of the parish and the people who have served St. Agatha and the surrounding areas. In her presentation, she notes that 210 Daughters of Wisdom have served in the region, of whom 29 are buried in the cemetery. She describes the community of 55 sisters who came from France, with 12 buried in the cemetery; 42 sisters from Canada, with 3 buried there; and 108 sisters from the USA, 14 of whom are buried in the cemetery. To the people of St. Agatha, Maine, the cemetery is regarded as holy ground. This accounting also includes priests and parishioners who served in the St. Agatha area. Sr. Jackie added, "Much more could be said about the services of the public schools, medical facilities, and the parishes of the St. John Valley. The interaction and cooperation of these service organizations have truly been an asset to all of us who were educated during those years, and the services and medical assistance that continue to this day."
