2026 Wisdom Mission Grants Awarded

$80,000 in Funding Awarded this year—

We are thrilled to announce the 2026 Mission Grant Awards from the Daughters of Wisdom! This year, the Mission Grant Committee—Sr. Mary Jane Cashin, DW, Sr. Edith Menengus, OSU, BCC, Sr. Ann Scahill, DW, Sr. Marie Sopr, DW, and Chair, Sr. Lucy Clynes, DW—reviewed an inspiring slate of grant applications and, in a spirit of collaboration and hope, recommended recipients to the Leadership Team. In total, the committee awarded $80,000 in funding to organizations making a transformative impact in their communities.

This year’s grant cycle brought together four inspiring new applicants and four deserving renewal requests. Grant recipients are working to advance literacy, provide safe housing, support immigrants, uphold the dignity of people affected by crime, and deliver essential healthcare to unhoused and uninsured people. We are proud to support Baby Read (Seneca, South Carolina), Assisi House (St. Louis, MO), Literacy of Suffolk (Long Island, NY), and Catholic Mobilizing Network (Florida) as first-year awardees. We also celebrate continued support for the Long Island Immigration Clinic (Brentwood, NY), Harmony Healthcare (Nassau County, NY), Book Fairies (Hicksville, NY), and Mission House (Jacksonville Beach, Florida) as second-year recipients. These organizations are changing lives—and we are honored to champion their missions. Stay tuned for inspiring stories and updates from this year’s outstanding grant recipients in the months ahead!
