Welcome from the Vocation Director

Hello, my name is Sr. Lucy Clynes and I would like to welcome you to the Daughters of Wisdom, US Province website.   I am here to answer the questions you may have in regards to religious life.

What does the Director of Vocation Ministry do?

I am here to offer assistance to anyone who feels drawn to explore religious life.  I would be delighted to share with you my own vocational story about how I came to this position of treasurer and vocation director.  You may even see some parallels in your life that will help you see where God is calling you.

I hope to provide you with as much information possible so that you can make an informed decision that comes from a lot of dialogue, prayer and reflection. 

Explain to me what happens if I request more information about religions life?

Once I receive the request, an information packet will be sent out from our Vocation Office.  We will then follow up with you to make sure you received the material and to answer any additional questions you may have.

In addition, I will give you some basic information in regards to discernment that will hopefully be of help to you.  At this time I may ask you a little about yourself.  For example, I may ask you about your age, education, work, previous marital status and what interests you about working or studying religious life.

What if I would like additional information?

Please feel free to contact me by email, phone or letter.

I believe you will find that each religious congregation has something unique and special to offer.   While you will find plenty of information in our brochures, I encourage you to visit and see how religious life is lived.  I have found that this is the best way to learn about any religious congregation. 

If these visits are a financial difficulty for you, please let me know.

Should I feel obligated after having visited a community?

Please do not feel any pressure to make a decision after your visit.  It is up to you whether or not you would like to maintain contact or if you would like to visit other communities.  Know that you will leave here with many blessings as you continue your journey to find where God is calling you.

Final comments

Please allow me join you on this journey as God leads you on this journey.  Pursuing a vocation in religious life and in sisterhood takes a lot of courage, but I think you will find it richly rewarding.  It would be my honor to help you on this incredible journey!
